Taxonomy
Puchenquia (Gerthiceras) mendozana was named by Westermann and Riccardi (1982). Its type specimen is MLP 13941, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Locality 822, Rio Potimalal, Mendoza, which is in a Murchisonae transition zone/lower shoreface sandstone in Argentina.
