Taxonomy
Neuquenitrigonia plazaensis was named by Pérez et al. (2008). Its type specimen is SNGM 477, a valve (right valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quebrada Plaza, Atacama, which is in a Variabilis open shallow subtidal horizon in Chile.
