Taxonomy
Turkmeniceras rarecostatum was named by Bogdanova (1971). Its type specimen is TsGM 3/10096, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Tekedzhik Ridge [Gory Tekedzhik], Tuarkyr, which is in a Barremian marine horizon in Turkmenistan.
