Taxonomy
Passaloteuthis woottonensis was named by Lang (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH C.28918 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Monkton Wyld brook, Wootton Fitzpaine, which is in a Jamesoni offshore marl in the Charmouth Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom.
