Taxonomy
Passaloteuthis ridgensis was named by Lang (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH C.28907 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 118c, Upper Darker Marls, Charmouth, which is in an Ibex offshore marl in the Belemnite Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.
