Taxonomy
Amberleya auricipitis was named by Cox (1928). Its type specimen is BMNH G.26320, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Bed 120d, Crumbly Bed, Golden Cap, which is in an Ibex offshore marl in the Belemnite Marls Formation of the United Kingdom.
