Lipanorthis andinus
Taxonomy
Lipanorthis andinus was named by Benedetto and Carrasco (2002). Its type specimen is CEGH–UNC 20443., a valve (External and internal molds of a ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Ch-6a. Quebrada Chalala, Purmamarca, which is in a Tremadoc offshore mudstone in the Coquena Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Lipanorthis.
