It was recombined as Myctophum splendidum by Brauer (1904), Holec (1975), Schwarzhans and Aguilera (2013); it was recombined as Diaphus (Lamprossa) splendidum by Fraser-Brunner (1949); it was recombined as Scopelus splendidus by Weiler (1950); it was recombined as Diaphus splendidus by Girone et al. (2006), Schwarzhans and Nielsen (2021).
