Donenriquoceras was named by Wiedmann (1960). Its type is Donenriquoceras forbesiceratiforme.

It was assigned to Pseudotissotiinae by Wright et al. (1996); and to Pseudotissotiinae by Barroso-Barcenilla and Goy (2007).
