Taxonomy
Arcestes tacitus was named by von Mojsisovics (1875). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Raschberg, beds with Bucephalus subbullatus, which is in a Tuvalian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
