Taxonomy

Rhynchonella hopkinsi was named by Davidson (1852).

It was recombined as Burmirhynchia hopkinsi by Buckman (1917); it was recombined as Burmirhynchia (Hopkinsirhynchia) hopkinsi by Shi and Grant (1993).

Synonyms

Burmirhynchia calculosa was named by Buckman (1917). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Marquise (Great Oolite Limestone), which is in a Bathonian carbonate limestone in France.

It was synonymized subjectively with Burmirhynchia (Hopkinsirhynchia) hopkinsi by Shi and Grant (1993).
Burmirhynchia restitula was named by Buckman (1918).

It was synonymized subjectively with Burmirhynchia (Hopkinsirhynchia) hopkinsi by Shi and Grant (1993).
Burmirhynchia restituta was named by Buckman (1917).

It was synonymized subjectively with Burmirhynchia hopkinsi by Laurin (1984).
