Taxonomy
Lobites hypsocarenus was named by von Mojsisovics (1875). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sandling, beds with Bucephalus subbullatus, which is in a Tuvalian carbonate limestone in the Halstatt Formation of Austria.
It was recombined as Lobites (Coroceras) hypsocarenus by von Mojsisovics (1902).
