Resserella matutina

Rhynchonellata - Orthida - Dalmanellidae

Taxonomy
Resserella matutina was named by Baarli (1988) [= 1982 Resserella sp. Thomsen and Baarli, pI. 1, fig. 22.]. Its type specimen is PMO 108288, a valve (brachial valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Gjettum in Bærum, which is in an Aeronian marine mudstone/sandstone in the Solvik Formation of Norway.

Ventral muscle field well impressed and pentagonal with vascula media divergent. Teeth strong with deep cruralfossetts. Anacline interarea and shallow, broad sulcus in brachial valve. Brachiophore processes strong, tusk-like, and with relatively small sockets for the genus. Muscle scars well impressed with posterior adductor scars larger than anterior
