Taxonomy
Pecten zitteli was named by Wohrmann and Koken (1892). It is the type species of Entolioides.

It was recombined as Entolioides zitteli by Allasinaz (1972); it was recombined as Camptonectes (Camptochlamys) zitteli by Jelen (1989).
