Valcourea semicarinata
Taxonomy
Valcourea semicarinata was named by Cooper (1956) [= Valcourea strophomenoides Butts, Virginia Geol. Surv. Bull. 52, pt. 2, p. 41, pi. 73, figs. 9, 10, 1942.]. Its type specimen is USNM 110228d and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Porterfield Quarry, 5 miles northeast of Saltville, which is in a Darriwilian carbonate limestone in the Arline Formation of Virginia.
