Taxonomy
Cucumaltina was named by Brimaud and Vachard (1986) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-u-l Sepkoski's reference number: 698]. It is not extant. Its type is Cucumaltina placocephalus.

It was assigned to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cnemidiastridae by Finks et al. (2004).
