Taxonomy
Mytiloperna charlottensis was named by Aberhan (1998). Its type specimen is GSC 112405, a valve (left valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC loc. 19040 - Nootka Sound, which is in a Pliensbachian marine sandstone in Canada.
