Pseudocrinites was named by Pearce (1843) [Sepkoski's age data: S Wenl-u D Gedi-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,328]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Staurocystinae by Beaver et al. (1967); to Rhombifera by Sepkoski (2002); and to Callocystitidae by Paul and Rozhnov (2016).
