Hallirhoa was named by Lamouroux (1821) [Sepkoski's age data: K Albi-u K Ceno]. It is not extant.

It was reranked as Siphonia (Hallirhoa) by Hinde (1883).

It was assigned to Siphonia by Hinde (1883); to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Siphoniinae by Finks et al. (2004).
