Akadocrinus was named by Prokop (1962) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm uMid]. Its type is Akadocrinus jani.

It was assigned to Eocrinoidea by Sprinkle (1973); to Gogiida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eocrinidae by Nohejlová and Fatka (2016), Nohejlová and Fatka (2017).

Middle Cambrian (Paradoxides gracilis zone), Jince Beds, Czechoslovakia.
