Taxonomy
Ridersia was named by Jell et al. (1985) [Sepkoski's age data: Cm Fran Sepkoski's reference number: 805]. It is not extant. Its type is Ridersia watsonae. It is the type genus of Ridersiidae.

It was assigned to Ridersiidae by Jell et al. (1985); and to Ascocystitida by Sepkoski (2002).
