Taxonomy
Canadocystis was named by Jaekel (1900) [Sepkoski's age data: O Llde O Cara-l Sepkoski's reference number: 2,706]. Its type is Malocystites barrandi.

It was assigned to Platycystitidae by Parsley and Mintz (1975); and to Comarocystitida by Sepkoski (2002).
