Taxonomy
Taramelliceras theoi was named by Quereilhac and Guinot (2011). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is BOUM-Q.Ox.173.1, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Usine Pampr'oeuf, which is in an Oxfordian offshore mudstone in the Theoi Marls Formation of France.
