Christiania tenuicincta bilobata was named by Reed (1917).

It was recombined as Christiania bilobata by Williams (1962) and Candela and Harper (2014).

A. Williams 1962Elongately quadrate and auriculate Christiania with the anterior and postero-median portions of the valves strongly concavo-convex but flattening out postero-laterally to form a pair of plane triangular areas; ornamentation including well-developed concentric growth-lines and fine radial costellae; dental lamellae narrowly divergent and almost one-third as long as the pedicle valve; dorsal septa straight and subparallel; adductor muscle-scars confined anteriorly by a pair of curved ridges and divided obliquely by a pair of low divergent ridges.
