Inodia was named by Moret (1925) [Sepkoski's age data: K Ceno K Maes-l Sepkoski's reference number: 642]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Lithistida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Carterellinae by Finks et al. (2004).
