Taxonomy
Priscolongatus was named by Górka and Luszczewska (1969) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr m T Ol-l Sepkoski's reference number: 982]. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Priscolongatus quadriperforatus.

It was assigned to Priscopedatidae by Górka and Luszczewska (1969); to Dendrochirotida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Molpadiidae by Reich (2003).
