Taxonomy
Diceromyonia crassa was named by Howe (1965). Its type specimen is USNM 144953 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Section 2. Bed 08. East-facing escarpment, Franklin Mountains, which is in a Maysvillian carbonate limestone in the Aleman Formation of Texas.
