It was assigned to Holothuroidea by Deflandre and Deflandre-Rigaud (1948); to Aspidochirotida by Deflandre-Rigaud (1952), Pawson (1966), Sepkoski (2002); and to Stichopitidae by Frizzell and Exline (1955), Said and Barakat (1958), Deflandre-Rigaud (1962), Frizzell and Exline (1966), Zawidzka (1971), Soodan (1991), Kalita et al. (2002).
