Taxonomy
Purpurina (Purpurina) weishanensis was named by Pan (1977). Its type specimen is NIGP 24262, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is YHW791, Wuyin, Weishan County, which is in an Alaunian marine horizon in the Baijizu Formation of China.
