Taxonomy
Croneisites was named by Frizzell and Exline (1957) [Sepkoski's age data: T Eo T Mi-u-l]. It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type is Synapta oligocaenica.

It was assigned to Synaptellidae by Deflandre-Rigaud (1962); to Synaptitidae by Frizzell and Exline (1957), Frizzell and Exline (1966) and Górka and Luszczewska (1969); and to Apodida by Sepkoski (2002).
