Taxonomy
Kitchinites ifrimae was named by Salazar et al. (2010). Its type specimen is CPUC/Q/CO/3161, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cocholgüe (locality CO, beds with concretions), which is in a Maastrichtian marine sandstone in the Quiriquina Formation of Chile.
