Tritoechia tokmakensis

Taxonomy
Tritoechia tokmakensis was named by Popov et al. (2001). Its type specimen is NMW 98.64G.11, a valve (ventral internal mould), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sample 5758. South of the Agalatas River valley, which is in a Floian carbonate sandstone in the Kurday Formation of Kazakhstan.

Popov et al. 2001Shell ventribiconvex, slightly transverse, subpentagonal in outline; anterior commissure rectimarginate; lateral profile of ventral valve almost straight anterior to the umbo, with maximum height near the beak; dorsal valve moderately and evenly convex; radial ornament parvicostellate with 4-5 costellae per 5 mm along the anterior margin of mature specimens; ventral muscle field large, elongated, extending anteriorly up to 33 % of sagittal valve length; median ridge anterior to the ventral muscle field and dorsal median sulcus absent.
