Taxonomy
Anomia bilocularis was named by Hisinger (1799). It is the type species of Conchidium.

It was recombined as Conchidium biloculare by Bassett and Cocks (1974); it was recombined as Conchidium bilocularis by Jin and Chatterton (1997).
