Janius occidentalis
Taxonomy
Janius occidentalis was named by Boucot et al. (1988). Its type specimen is USNM 410005 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USNM loc. 12878, Red Amphitheatre, Funeral Mountains, which is in a Wenlock deep subtidal shelf dolomite in the Hidden Valley Formation of California.
