Taxonomy
Schizophoria poloi was named by Martelli (1901). It is the type species of Yangtzeella, Yangtzeella (Yangtzeella).

It was recombined as Yangtzeella poloi by Kolarova (1925); it was recombined as Yangtzeella (Yangtzeella) poloi by Nikitina et al. (2006).
