Taxonomy
Terebratula marginalis was named by Dalman (1828).

It was recombined as Plectatrypa marginalis by Rzhonsnitskaya (1960); it was recombined as Spirigerina marginalis by Bassett and Cocks (1974), Jin and Chatterton (1997).
