It was assigned to Asteroidea by Spencer (1922); to Taeniactininae by Spencer (1927), Lehmann (1957); to Helianthasterinae by Owen (1965); to Taeniactinidae by Spencer and Wright (1966); to Hemizonida by Sepkoski (2002); to Palasteriscinae by Dean Shackleton (2005); and to Palaeasteridae by Blake (2018).
