Taxonomy
Mortoniceras campaniense was named by de Grossouvre (1894). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is St Hilaire-de-Montmoreau (Charente), Assise P1, which is in a Campanian carbonate carbonate in France.
It was recombined as Menabites (Delawarella) campaniense by Kennedy (1986).
