Taxonomy
Cuniculocystis floweri was named by Sprinkle and Wahlman (1994). Its type specimen is 1774TX1 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 0.56 km (0.35 mi) northwest of Scenic Drive Observation Point, which is in a Cassinian shallow subtidal wackestone/packstone in the Florida Mountains Formation of Texas. It is the type species of Cuniculocystis.

Wahlman 1994Glyptocystitids having a large cylindrical theca with angular cross section; ambulacra short, confined to domed summit, 3-4? brachioles slightly indenting paired RR, tips flush with RR surface; plate surfaces nearly smooth except for thin axial ridges, most thecal plates having numerous covered epispires on their sutures with passageways extending inward nearly to plate centers, spacing of epispires averaging 0.37 mm; proximal stem medium-sized, slowly tapering, outer columnals having depressed equatorial groove and vertical ridges.
