Iranospirifer qarabilensis
Taxonomy
Iranospirifer qarabilensis was named by Popov and Cocks (2013) [= 1979 Placoplasia sp. Cocks, p. 40, figs 40–41.]. Its type specimen is BB 93477, a valve (ventral valve), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is 2.5 km northeast of the town of Rabat-e Qarabil, which is in an Aeronian carbonate limestone in the Qarabil Formation of Iran.
