Taxonomy
Parastrophinella cirrita was named by Jin and Zhan (2001). Its type specimen is GSC 117778 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is GSC loc. C-205935. Garson Quarry, which is in a Maysvillian carbonate limestone in the Red River Formation of Canada.

Median septum in both valves poorly developed. Spondylium sessile posteriorly. Cruralium narrow, sessile anteriorly. Alate plates long and wide.
