Taxonomy
Howellites amsdeni was named by Savage (1981). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is USGS 2689 - northeast end of Heceta Island, which is in a Pragian reef, buildup or bioherm limestone in the Karheen Formation of Alaska.
