Taxonomy

Girtyoceras weetsense was named by Moore (1946). Its type specimen is GSM 72660, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.

It was recombined as Eumorphoceras (Sulcogirtyoceras) weetsense by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
