Neodimorphoceras hawkinsi was named by Moore (1930). Its type specimen is GSM Zl 3094, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Kazakhoceras hawkinsi by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
