Adelphoceras meslerianum was named by Girty (1909).

It was recombined as Girtyoceras meslerianum by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971) and Korn and Titus (2015).

Synonyms

Girtyoceras postmeslerianum was named by Bruning (1923).

It was synonymized subjectively with Girtyoceras meslerianum by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
Dryochoceras brainerdi was named by Morgan (1924).

It was synonymized subjectively with Girtyoceras meslerianum by Ruzhentsev and Bogoslovskaya (1971).
