Taxonomy
Tasmanella nova was named by Laurie (1991). Its type specimen is UTGD 120675, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Westfield Road Section. 0875 meters., which is in a Katian shallow subtidal limestone in the Benjamin Formation of Australia.
