Taxonomy
Heminautilus sanctaecrucis was named by Conte (1980). Its type specimen is MGL 20747, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Sainte-Croix (marne jaune), which is in an Aptian carbonate marl in Switzerland.
