Taxonomy
Aorocrinus was named by Wachsmuth and Springer (1897) [Sepkoski's age data: D Give C Vise-l Sepkoski's reference number: 986]. It is not extant. Its type is Dorycrinus immaturus.

It was assigned to Bactocrininae by Goldring (1936); to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Coelocrinidae by Ausich and Roeser (2012).
