Archaeocalyptocrinus was named by Whitzke and Strimple (1981) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov S Wenl]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Monobathrida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Eucalyptocrinitidae by Clement and Brett (2015).
