Taxonomy
Digonioceras praecox was named by Rulleau (2008). Its type specimen is PF Toa 607, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Belmont d’Azergues (Lafarge quarry), Upper Toarcian, which is in a Toarcian marine marl in France.
